Angela Knox - Nurse Manager Operations
I have been the clinical nurse manager of haematology Day ward at Middlemore Hospital for ten years, and then moved into the Clinical Nurse Specialist role. I enjoyed the changing clinical environment within haematology and the long term patient contact. Prior to this I was a clinical Nurse Advisor, also at Middlemore.
I have published in an international journals and undertaken several pieces of nursing research within haematology. I am specifically interested in the “survivorship” aspect of patient’s care, which we are only just beginning to understand. We are currently implementing a survivorship program based on my research project. I have also presented at international and national conferences. I have been a member of the NZNO Cancer Nurses College since 2005, and a member of the Committee since 2011. I have the privileged of being the chair since 2014 -2016. I was also the Nursing representative on the Cancer therapeutic advisory Group (CTAG) which is responsible for cancer related communication to the Ministry and Minister of Health (disestablished 2017). I was the Chair of the Skills and Knowledge Framework for Cancer Nursing, endorsed in 2014, and the National Nursing Standards for Antineoplastic Drug Administration in New Zealand, published by NZNO and Ministry of Health in 2015. Although no longer employed specifically with the Cancer Speciality I look forward to incorporating this knowledge into my current role.
In August 2016, I became Nurse Manager-Operation at Golden Bay Community Health and became for me a steep learning curve in primary health, rural health and aged care. It is a diverse and challenging role and I enjoy extending my knowledge in this area.
Sally Boixo - Practice Coordinator
As Primary Care Co-ordinator, I oversee the day to day running of the General Practice and its team. It is a busy and challenging, ever changing role that I enjoy.
Originally from the Kapiti Coast and after many years living in Australia, my husband and I settled in Golden Bay and raised our family here. In 1997 I began working for (what was then) Golden Bay Medical Centre as a receptionist. I have seen and been involved in, the many changes along the way as we have integrated to become the Golden Bay Community Health facility that we are today.
Our team is committed to providing a trusted and compassionate service to our community.
